Borescope, Viewer, Metal
Wednesday, August 30, 2006
A Stainless Steel Viewer Borescope has been designed and developed that fits over the conventional viewing head of a standard Borescope Viewer providing illumination for internal viewing. The Borescope contains a Stainless Steel mirror built to any desired or required viewing angle. The metal mirror can be polished to a figure of 2µm. If the metal is scratched, the mirror is removable from the Borescope and can be repolished. Glass mirrors, unlike metal mirrors, are not easily repolished and are usually discarded after scratching.
Key design features of the Borescope are as follows: 1) Does not corrode or rust; 2) Can be used with liquid oxygen or liquid nitrogen; 3) Introduces no contamination; 4) Can be sterilized and use in a medical endoscope.
