Flouroscope, Infrared, Imaging
Saturday, September 09, 2006
An Imaging Infrared Fluoroscope has been designed and developed consisting of 771nm, 250mW Laser Diode illumination and a white light excitation from a 150 mW Halogen Lamp with filtering of wavelengths longer than 700nm.
The NIR light and visible light is collected by a zoom lens is passed through a custom camera coupler. The coupler contains a dichroic mirror that separates the NIR light and the visible light components and directs them to their respective cameras. The respective light paths are filtered again to ensure that no NIR radiation reaches the visible camera and no visible radiation reaches the NIR camera. The operator can view each camera image either separately or by merging the two images in real time. The visible image and NIR image are acquired simultaneously and are therefore both available in real time.
