Microscope, Inverted, Basic
Monday, September 11, 2006
The Inverted Microscope has been designed and developed consisting of a microscope housing, an objective lens and an ocular eyepiece, all below the microscope stage. The microscope illumination system is above the microscope stage. The vertical illuminator is used under the stage near the objective lens for opaque materials. The Inverted Microscope is useful for the examination of surfaces because test samples can be placed on the stage, which is held securely in focus. Large sample specimens can be moved over the microscope stage more readily than with an ordinary microscope. Any form of camera can be mounted securely in the microscope base providing image stability, as in a metallograph microscope. Monocular or binocular microscope housings can be used with the Inverted Microscope.
